Hello world!

My name is Helena. I live in a town about 40 miles south of Boston that I refer to as a coffee desert. My local options consist of Dunkin Donuts, Marylou’s, Starbucks, and a lovely french bakery with world class pastries but coffee that is, to put it frankly, insulting . You get the idea. I became a passionate coffee enthusiast three years ago, when I was in a coffee shop in paris and was mesmerized by a barista making coffee with the consideration of an fine artist painting his masterpiece. After the first sip of the latte I could taste the care and passion, and in that moment I knew coffee was so much more than a sophisticated energy drink. Coffee culture extends beyond borders, it unites people through conversation, connects countries through trade and humanitarianism, and is one of the few simple things in life that people all over the world look forward to enjoying everyday. Through my travels and adventures, I have decided to share my perspective and observations with the world as I continue to wrestle with the mystery behind the infatuation of the coffee bean. Here are my (her) thoughts on coffee.
